20-minute challenge, Day 2, Cape Canaveral Seashore

I had to drop out of the challenge after this one, because I got bronchitis. I limited my time to exactly 20 minutes, and guess what I had to leave out? His fishing rod. Thirty minutes before this picture was taken, we were on a jungle path. That's the beauty of the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge.

I might finish this one or do a bigger version, complete with pole.

Scrub Jay, 8x6 Watercolor

The Florida Scrub Jay is the only bird species that lives exclusively in Florida, inhabiting scrub oak in sandy soils. It is threatened by loss of habitat. This painting is a departure for me, a small watercolor.

Day 1 of Five-day Challenge, 23 Minutes

The Art+Work+Living Challenge is to paint a picture in 20 minutes. This was actually 23 minutes. It's an 8x10, and next time I'll go smaller. Click here to see all the art in the challenge.
