Radishes, 8x10 Oil on Canvas Board

I'm so dull-witted today that I can't think of a clever title for this. I'm wondering if the ringing in my ears constitutes "white noise?" Anyway, I loved painting these radishes. They have so much color and personality. Look at that hairdo.

House of Blue, 5x7 Oil on Canvas Board

Apparently I'm in my Blue Period, having painted a blue frog, a blue birdie, and now this. I was in Larry Moore's plein air workshop and we were at Ballard Park yesterday, a gorgeous location on the water in Melbourne, Florida. Well, what a day! There was a regatta of little sailboats as well as a pirate ship. Out of the pirate ship came--what else? a pirate, in full regalia. Larry immediately began painting a portrait of him, and it was wonderful. Oh, and the pirate had--what else? a parrot. You never know what you'll see around here.

Teeny Birdie, 4x4 Collage

I thought I'd see how small a collage I could make. This is only 4x4 inches. It's on stretched canvas and needs no frame.

Succulence, 6x8 Oil on Canvas Board

This was another still life setup painted with my painting group, Pieces of 8. We have so much fun painting together--almost as much fun as lunch afterward.

I am so happy to announce that I am now on the site, along with some of the greatest daily painters on the internet!

Soft Landing, 8x10 Collage

Color follows trends, and I guess bright yellow is not trendy now, because it was difficult to find a yellow that would give this butterfly some "punch." I finally discovered this buttery yellow in Dr. Oz's sweater. He is always so helpful, isn't he?

Sunshine Collection, 8x10

These are Florida oranges, the kind that make juice without fungicide. Why would we want to import such stuff when we have these? Buy Florida!

Purple Shoe, Collage, 10X8

Yes, I was taught and inspired by Derek Gores, the fabulous collage artist. Now I can't stop! I love painting, but this is fun too. Thank you, Derek!

I have had two paintings accepted into the Women Painters of the Southeast 2012 Members Show; Leap of Faith and Spoonbills--oil paintings, not collages.

Sunset in Paradise, 5x7 Oil on Canvas Board

This is for those who may be looking out the window at snow right now. I love the magical things that happen to the sky at sunset. God creates, the artist imitates.
