At the end of each road on the Gulf side of North Captiva Island in Florida there is a beach, and most every night there is a sunset show. People gather on beach chairs and watch the sun go down, and there is sometimes applause. It's perhaps a form of worship, applauding God for His magnificent display. No paintbrush can truly capture it.

I usually paint from the beach looking at the ocean, so this is a departure. I am looking from the ocean to the shore. I like the palms standing like sentinels over the beach.

By the time this post is online, I'll be hiking in the Smokies, one of my favorite places in the world, with some of my favorite people in the world. Heaven!

Seattle is a beautiful city, and a very busy one. This girl caught my eye as she was striding purposefully down the sidewalk with her big bag. I love all the hanging plants in the city, especially the dangling ones like the one above her head. The composition pleases me, as do the reflections in the doors.
