Breakfast Club, 20x16 Original Oil Seascape on Canvas

I had the urge to paint something bigger than my usual daily paintings, so I spent several days on this. I love the ocean. I love swimming in it, looking at it, floating on it, and painting it. I'm awed by its power and fascinated by its beauty. I like to look at it and imagine what's on the other side. When I was a kid living in Central Florida, we would come to the beach, and I could smell it before I saw it. I have lived in Bermuda and the Azores Islands, surrounded by water. In Bermuda it was turquoise with pink sand beaches; in the Azores it was deep teal or blue or stormy gray, with a black lava beach. I'd like to be back in those places, knowing what I know now about painting them.

Pink Hibiscus, 18x24 Original Oil Painting on Canvas, Large Floral Painting

$250, Click to Purchase
Our painting group got together yesterday to paint in a Georgia O'Keeffe style. This is the closest I could get. I didn't want to copy her, just do a large floral painting in a simple style similar to hers. It was a lot of fun using a big brush to do most of it. I may do some more of these.

Cathedral Rock, 20x20 Oil

After what I went through to get this scene, I thought it deserved a bigger painting, so this one is 20x20 on stretched canvas. My husband and I went to a park, looking for this view of beautiful Cathedral Rock. We turned the wrong way and hiked and hiked, but that was a treat, because it was a beautiful path along the river. We came upon a forest of cairns that people had built of stacked stones--hundreds of them. We finally found the above scene 100 yards from our car after we hiked back. This is a much-photographed Sedona spot, and you can see why.
