Maine Wave, 8x10 Oil on Canvas Board

My plucky sister and I walked the cliff walk around Prout's Neck, Maine, and it was hallowed ground. Winslow Homer's footsteps trod upon the same path, and I was trying to channel Homer when I painted this. It was a very rough trek in places, but oh, so beautiful. The rocks are so black and the sea so blue. Homer's studio is 75 feet from the sea. It's being redone, so we didn't get to go inside.

  1. You got lots of material out of your trip. Very cool painting today with lots of action.

  2. Ayah, I'd know that wave anywhere...:) Wonderful!

  3. Beautiful job with a tough subject. Wonderful!
