This little dude is the Blue Poison Dart Frog. The toxin from these frogs was used by South American Indians to poison tips of blowgun darts. Needless to say, these little guys have few predators in the jungle. In the wild, its diet of ants, termites and beetles causes its skin toxins. In captivity, a more bland diet renders the frogs non-poisonous.
My frog is made of ripped magazines and is perfectly harmless.
This is awesome Carmen.
ReplyDeleteThis one caught my eye on the Daily Paintworks site. I enjoyed looking at the rest of your lovely artwork.
ReplyDeleteI was once a quality assurance inspector and preceived as very annoying when I came around. Also a gauge technician, that's the fancy work for it.
it's like a live frog... but blue!!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen these frogs in photographs and they are beautiful. I like what you did with the magazines.
ReplyDeleteI read your article in International Artist and really enjoyed it! Your paintings are lovely, especially the spoonbills. Would love to see your work in person. :-)
