Checkin' the Waves, Oil on Canvas 11x14

This is our adorable grandson at the beach. This reminded me of surfers in our community standing on a crossover to the beach and checking the waves, deciding whether to go to school (or work, as the case may be).

The Farrier, 16x20 Watercolor Equine Art

I am primarily an oil painter, but I enjoyed doing this watercolor. I suppose it's unusual to have a horse's rear end be prominent in a painting, but I loved the farrier's pose.

Surfspray, 24x18 Original Oil Seascape

I really enjoy painting waves with a lot of action. I always loved reading seafaring tales when I was a kid. As an adult, I have only been on ships twice, and both were in storms with waves much bigger this. There is nothing romantic about seasickness. I am quite content seeing the beauty of the surf from the beach.

Snowy Farm, oil painting

 Sold

This was the scene one morning at our daughter's home in Pennsylvania. There's nothing like morning light and long shadows.

Outer Bands, 14x11 Original Oil Painting on Canvas

We were on the Pineda Causeway, crossing the Indian River, when we saw this. It looked the same in every direction. Hurricane Idalia was raging on the western side of the state, and we got this. We were very lucky once again. Other parts of Florida were not so fortunate.

Birdie, 8x10 Original Oil Wildlife Painting

I am told this is a Chickadee. I thought he was irresistibly cute, and he is the first thing I have painted since my bout with Covid. I started another painting a couple weeks ago, but wasn't feeling that well yet. Before I got very far into it I realized it was a "scraper," a painting so disappointing that I scraped it off the canvas. I am very happy with this one.

Summer Storm, Pasture Landscape Small Original Oil Painting 10x8

If you cross Highway 60 in Central Florida you will often see a scene like this, with dark storm clouds approaching and sun on the pasture in the foreground. I love this kind of light. This scene reminds me of my childhood in "Old Florida".
