It's a lot easier to paint a watercolor with your foot propped up than painting an oil in that position, so this was my result. My broken toe is making little progress but I have graduated from wearing a sock to a flip flop. Thank goodness I didn't do this to myself before I finished my mural!

Well, I will soon be building my brand-new, luxurious studio because James Comey of the FBI emailed me that for only $750 and my personal information I will receive over 10 million dollars from lottery/gambling/inheritance money due me from "overseas."

I keep wondering how many people fall for this, just another version of the Nigerian scam. Someone must, or they wouldn't keep doing it. The letters are always poorly written and don't even come close to being believable, yet someone must be sending them money.

This has nothing to do with my painting above, I just need to sound off now and then. I once had a friend who would say, "There are eight million people in New York City. If I could just get each one to send me a penny..."

This painting was one of three recently displayed at the Egad! Art Lab's "Agua" exhibit in Melbourne, Florida. It's quite a departure from my usual work and was a lot of fun to do. I simply called it "Tossed," but my mind kept saying, "Don't Throw Out the Baby With the Bathwater."

This is my whole eggplant crop. One eggplant. I am trying to make the most of it, so I painted it and then we had it for dinner. I am entering the painting in the Daily Paintworks challenge titled, "What I Paint With." I'm killing two birds with one stone.

I can't blog without mentioning the Casey Anthony trial. Apparently some of the miscreants involved (some people call them "jurors") are going to try to cash in, as will Casey. That is just sickening. The Bad Seed ruined her parents' lives, took her own child's life, and will become a celebrity. It's even worse than the O.J. verdict, because it is the murder of a precious little child. There's no justice for Caylee.

Grand Opening, Triptych, 15x7

 

It takes days for my Lily of the Nile blooms to open, and I find each stage beautiful. God's palette created the most pleasing combination of colors. This triptych is painted on three 5x7-inch gallery-wrapped canvases. I had to depart from my cell phone series to paint this, because I like to paint something while I'm excited about it, and these lilies were beckoning.

Outside My Window, 5x7

This is going into the Daily Paintworks Challenge called "Outside My Window." I actually see our pool, then this scene, then just over the fence I can see a tree with mangoes hanging all over it in the neighbors' yard. I am coveting my neighbors' mangoes. I admit it. They aren't close enough to hang over my fence, either. They just hang there, silhouetted against the sky...sigh.

My husband is having radiation for a skin cancer (non-malignant) on his face, and the preparatory work was done yesterday. It was claustrophobic torture for him. While he was having this bad experience, I was in the waiting room. I was sitting there minding my own business and a massage therapist walked up and said she volunteers there, and that patients as well as family members all benefit from massage, and would I like a massage? Would I! It was great! My husband came out and told me about his trauma, and I had to say, "Guess what I've been doing...?"

I'm in a green and purple mood this week. This is a Spanish water bottle, not perfectly round, but I didn't want to stress that too much. It makes it look like I can't paint a round object. Other favorite things here are books and dark chocolate Kisses.
